Valpak of Central Virginia
In 1977, Valpak of Central Virginia was founded by Bill Sroka. Bill had been working on Wall Street as a stock analyst, but was interested in coming back to Virginia.
In 1981, Richmond was one of the first Valpak markets to mail “Citywide” simultaneously. This would be the first of many pioneering moves made by the Valpak of Central Virginia office.
In 1990, Scoopline, a state of the art Valpak sales support department was created by John Addison of Valpak of Central Virginia to support Richmond and other subscribed markets throughout the country. Scoopline was featured in several national magazines as an innovative sales support concept. Scoopline was the precursor to Valpak's current national unparalleled Category Research Center. This center allows Valpak account executives to draw from successful marketing ideas from around the country! This greatly simplifies the marketing process. With Valpak's Category Research Center, Valpak customers are able to choose from marketing ideas which have already been proven successful in their category somewhere else in the country!
In 1997, Valpak of Central Virginia became the first Valpak office to put coupons online. Valpak.com reaches internet savvy shoppers looking for the best values.
On 10/15/03, Biff Wittkamp, Mike Meyer and David Jones bought Valpak of Central Virginia from Bill Sroka. Each partner had been equity investors and had maintained leadership roles in Valpak of Central Virginia for many years. Mike Meyer became an equity partner in 1982. Biff Wittkamp in 1996 and David Jones in 1999.
